Description: Captain Haddock, Snowy and Tintin on the up-turned hull of the lifeboat in which they escaped Allan and his henchmen of the Karaboudjan. Just when all seems lost, the silhouette of a seaplane appears on the horizon, immediately raising the spirits of the cast-away trio. Capturing an iconic moment in the very early days of the friendship between Tintin and Captain Haddock, this is a piece of concept art by Weta Workshop conceptual designer Rebecca Holguin (Tisch) created during the making of The Adventures of Tintin, the new film from Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures. The image has been chosen from The Art of The Adventures of Tintin, the beautifully presented book that has just launched as an official companion to the film. The Adventures of Tintin opens in theatres in Europe in October 2011 and across all territories world wide by Christmas. This print is the first in a series of prints from the book. The external dimensions of the print are 18.3 in x 11.7 in (465 mm x 297 mm) and the printed area is 15.8 in x 8.9 in (403 mm x 235 mm). It's printed on high quality 170 gsm satin paper and ships rolled up in a VERY sturdy poster tube. The dimensions of the poster tube are such that you can order up to 10 for the same shipping cost! It will arrive in pristine condition, ready to be framed and hung, pride of place, in your home.

Description: Snowy - were he a real dog - would be a Wire Fox Terrier. He is Tintin's most loyal companion and has saved the young journalist from more tight spots and dangerous situations than he'd probably care to remember. Wherever Tintin goes - Snowy goes and Tintin has had plenty of opportunity to reciprocate as Snowy also has a knack for getting into trouble. He shares his master's spirit of adventure and although he doesn't speak (he is a dog, after all), there is a lot going on in his imagination. The bond between Snowy and Tintin has grown strong from the many adventures and situations they've encountered together. The Weta sculpture of Snowy is a polystone resin statue created from the actual digital model made by Weta Digital for the new movie The Adventures of Tintin, and was finished and prepared by the artists at Weta Workshop. It is an open edition piece capturing beautifully the adorable cheekiness only a small dog can achieve. And get away with. He makes an excellent start to any Tintin collection, as well as a superb complement for those who have collected Classic Tintin pieces over the years. |

Description: Captain Archibald Haddock - a loud, aggressive, sometimes immature sea captain with a creative swearing problem. "Billions of Blue Blistering Barnacles and Ten Thousand Thundering Typhoons". There is certainly colour in the language of Captain Haddock. Not exactly the qualities a person would expect in one of Tintin's closest allies. But Haddock more than compensates for his bad habits. The Weta statue of Haddock is a 1/6 scale polystone resin statue created from the actual digital model made by Weta Digital for the new movie The Adventures of Tintin, and was finished and prepared by the artists at Weta Workshop. It is a limited edition piece capturing an iconic Haddock pose and makes an excellent start to any Tintin collection, as well as a superb complement for those who have collected Classic Tintin pieces over the years. Each piece will be individually numbered. The exact edition size is to be confirmed, but will be no more than 2,000. |

Description: The young journalist Tintin, with a sharp sense of adventure and a nose for a good scoop. An unstoppable tour-de-force, loyal to his friends and with strong morals. Accompanied by his loyal and rather charming dog Snowy, the duo assume a classic pose in this 2-part piece from Weta. The image of Tintin and Snowy running in the searchlight was the first released from The Adventures of Tintin and it adornes the cover of Weta's book The Art of The Adventures of Tintin. The Weta statue of Tintin and snowy is a 1/6 scale polystone resin statue created from the actual digital model made by Weta Digital for the new movie The Adventures of Tintin, and was finished and prepared by the artists at Weta Workshop. It is an open edition piece depicting Tintin and his dog Snowy in a classic pose (as seen on the cover of The Art of The Adventures of Tintin). Description: The infamous Scotland Yard detectives Thomson (with the flared-out moustache) and Thompson (straight moustache) offer comic relief and a satiric wink in good ol' cop bashing tradition. Contrary to popular belief, Thomson and Thompson are not twins, but colleagues, with an uncanny ability to confuse - others and them-selves. They take the letter of the law to new extremes and are fiercely loyal to their mission. This wildly complicates their relationship to Tintin and Captain Haddock. Aside from the moustache, a few moles are all that distinguishes Thomson from Thompson. The Weta sculpture of Thomson & Thompson is a 1/6 scale polystone resin statue created from the actual digital models made by Weta Digital for the new movie The Adventures of Tintin, and was finished and prepared by the artists at Weta Workshop. It is a limited edition piece capturing the two detectives in an iconic contemplative pose. Makes an excellent start to any Tintin collection, as well as a superb complement for those who have collected Classic Tintin pieces over the years. Each piece will be individually numbered. |
The Adventures of Tintin (Les Aventures de Tintin) is a series of classic comic books created by Belgian artist Georges Rémi (1907–1983), who wrote under the pen name of Hergé. The series is one of the most popular European comics of the 20th century, with translations published in more than 80 languages and more than 350 million copies of the books sold to date. The series first appeared in French in Le Petit Vingtième, a children's supplement to the Belgian newspaper Le XXe Siècle on 10 January 1929. The success of the series saw the serialised strips collected into a series of twenty-four albums, spun into a successful Tintin magazine, and adapted for film, radio, television and theatre. Set during a largely realistic 20th century, the hero of the series is Tintin, a young Belgian reporter. He is aided in his adventures from the beginning by his faithful fox terrier dog Snowy (Milou in French). Later, popular additions to the cast included the brash, cynical and grumpy Captain Haddock, the highly intelligent but hearing-impaired Professor Calculus (Professeur Tournesol) and other supporting characters such as the incompetent detectives Thomson and Thompson (Dupont et Dupond). Hergé himself features in several of the comics as a background character, as do his assistants in some instances. The comic strip series has long been admired for its clean, expressive drawings in Hergé's signature ligne claire style. Its engaging, well-researched plots straddle a variety of genres: swashbuckling adventures with elements of fantasy, mysteries, political thrillers, and science fiction. The stories within the Tintin series always feature slapstick humour, accompanied in later albums by satire, and political and cultural commentary. The Adventures of Tintin (also known as The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn in the United Kingdom) is a 2011 American performance capture 3D film based on The Adventures of Tintin. Directed by Steven Spielberg, produced by Peter Jackson, and written by Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, the film is based on three of the original comic books: The Crab with the Golden Claws (1941), The Secret of the Unicorn (1943), and Red Rackham's Treasure (1944).
