Next shipment date...
Our latest shipment has arrived into Queenstown and is due to be delivered to us tomorrow (Monday 23rd). Prepaid orders will be sent out asap so most customers should have them by mid week. We are anticipating that our next shipment will arrive late June/early July. If you would like to order any items on our website that state 'Available to order for next shipment', they must be ordered and paid for by Tuesday 1st June in order to make the shipment.

In the news...
GST increase - Budget announcement
In the recent budget announcements, the news that NZ GST is going to increase from 12.5% to 15% on 1st October 2010 comes as no real surprise to many. To me, it's just another obstacle the Government are putting in place to kill off small businesses like ourselves, but sadly we have no option other than to comply and increase our prices accordingly come October. On the bright side, nothing will change until 1st October so it's business as usual until then. The increase is effectively only a 2.5% change, so this only really equates to $2.50 extra per $100 of collectible coolness. Also, for any pre-ordered items released after 1st October, Reel Collectibles will not charge any GST increase provided they are ordered and paid for by the end of September.
Winter Festival
On the 26th June, members of Outpost 42, the New Zealand Garrison of the 501st Legion, will again be joining us for the Queenstown Winter Festival, along with some surprise guests (Hint: Halo fans - don't miss this one). The current count is 14 confirmed costumes trooping in the parade. The costumes are of the highest standard, all lovingly and meticulously hand-made by the participants and generally worth in excess of $1000 each. The troopers will be available for group and individual photos for a gold coin donation to charity (details and time to be advised). Public are advised to bring their cameras for this great opportunity to meet a Stormtrooper or Star Wars character. If you're in or near Queenstown for this years Winter Festival, come along and show your love for Star Wars and movies!
Twilight Eclipse
Eclipse items and images have finally been released and have recently been added to our website. Head over to the Twilight section to see all the new goodies, including Bella's Engagement Ring, the Wolf & Heart Charm Bracelet given to her by Jacob and Edward, a new Musical Jewellery Box, some great looking Keyrings and Bookmarks, cool Bags and new Fleece Throws. For those of you collecting Trading Cards, the good news is that Eclipse Trading Cards will also soon be available.
Shannon - Dept of Awesomeness
OK, so it's a self-proclaimed title (that's what he writes on his timesheet), but Sarah and I are not really sure how we coped before he came along. Shannon believes it's a great honour to be accepted into the esteemed ranks of the Reel Collectibles team, and who are we to argue? Bringing a keen enthusiasm for film and specialising in gaming and art, he helps keep the Reel Collectibles shop open 12 noon to sometime no earlier than 5pm every day - except Sundays of course, that's for sleeping in, watching movies and playing games!
With Shannon's mad website updating skills we have tons of awesome new stuff up on the website...

Hasbro Force FX Lightsabers. We have finally managed to obtain some of the new Hasbro Force FX Sabers. Picking up where Master Replicas left off, Hasbro have gone one better with the introduction of curved hilts such as Dooku and Ventress. Place your orders now for next shipment.
eFX Stormtrooper Helmet. Based on an original helmet from the Lucasfilm archives, this full scale wearable Replica offers what every big kid has ever wanted at an affordable price.
Ashley Wood's ThreeA World War Robots. These were an instant hit and sold like hot cakes (in fact we sold our entire stock) at the Armageddon Expos. We have more arriving tomorrow, don't miss out as these are now sold out overseas and this series of Brambles is no longer being produced.
We have a range of new products from Weta Collectibles in store and ready to ship. Doctor Who Helmets (limited stock), Lord of the Ring shields, Middle Earth maps, Stone Pendants and Rayguns are all now available.
The last natter...
We're not usually ones to count our chickens before they hatch (as the saying goes), but we're quite excited about this announcement, so what the heck. We are in the final stages of signing agreements etc to bring Games Workshop Warhammer products to our Queenstown store. Whilst the products will initially only be offered in store to our local collectors and not on our website, please feel free to email us if you'd like more information.
We are also in discussions with a local plastics company to consider offering Acrylic Display cases on our website to help protect your collectible investments. We'd love your feedback on this concept, please email us if you'd be interested, with the type of case you envisage and the size you think would be most suitable.
