13th December 2007
Hi everyone,
Can you believe Christmas is here again?
Which leads me straight into that subject...
Christmas
Here in Queenstown, Christmas and New Years time means it's busier, rather than quieter, which means we'll still be open as usual. At present, our current operating hours are as follows, however we may be opening for longer in the evening leading up to Christmas:
Monday to Friday: 10am to 5pm
Saturday: 12pm to 5pm
Sunday CLOSED
We will definitely be closed on Christmas day and possibly Boxing day and New Years day, but that depends on the weather for those ones.
If you wanted anything from our store for Christmas, either as a present for someone else or yourself, get your orders in now. If you order anything next week, we will try our hardest to get it to you before Christmas, but due to Courier/postal overloads, we can't guarantee Christmas delivery if you leave your order too late. Don't forget, anything you order gives you the chance to...
Win a Sideshow Collectibles Han Solo Statue
Due to extenuating circumstances the 'Win a Han' competition closing date has been extended to 28th February. Reel Collectibles and SWNZ are teaming up to give you the chance to win a Limited Edition Sideshow Collectibles Han Solo Statue. If you've been living in the dark, dark ages and don't know who SWNZ are, shame on you, they're on our links page, get over to their website and have a look. SWNZ (Star Wars New Zealand) is a website and community, built by New Zealanders, for New Zealanders. The principal goal is to support and encourage all Star Wars related hobbies in NZ, and to tie together the networks that constitute the wider Star Wars fan base. SWNZ focuses on New Zealand content, but has international appeal in that it highlights the unique contribution made by New Zealand and New Zealanders to the Star Wars Universe, and will chronicle regional events and collectibles not available elsewhere. SWNZ is about enjoying the hype of the new Star Wars films, and about remembering the mythos of the original trilogy. SWNZ strives for original content (there being no need to mimic that which is already done well by the large, well-established Star Wars sites), but maintains tight links and affiliations to like-minded websites all around the globe. Click here for competition details.

This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
We have finally managed to get some of the Star Wars: Clone Wars Animated series on DVD! these are Zone 4 for NZ/Australia, never before released in NZ, and we have specially imported them and had them NZ rated for our customers. Woohoo!
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Due next year, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Series 1 7" figures by Neca . We've only been given the final sculpt picture of Leonardo so far, but man does he look cool. Based on the original Mirage Studios comic created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, NECA 's new action figures maintain the gritty look comic book fans fell in love with over twenty years ago.
That's about it for now, I hope you and your families all have a safe and Merry Christmas and festive season.
Hugh.
8th November 2007
Hi everyone,
That's Armageddon over with for another 6 months or so, great
to see all of our regular expo attendees again and great to meet
many of you that we only knew by email. Welcome to all our new
e-newsletter customers from Armageddon. Check down below if you
missed our other online newsletters or if this is your first one.
Spring!
A reminder that due to the quieter season down here in Queenstown,
our current operating hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday: 10am to 5pm
Saturday: 12pm to 5pm
Sunday CLOSED
Sarah and I have been enjoying having Sundays off and actually
having a day off together, so there's a pretty good chance this
may become a permanent thing :)
Please note that on occasion these hours will vary, sometimes
shorter and often longer, or we may be closed. For example, if
it's raining, we'll probably be open longer hours. If it's dead
and a lovely day, we'll probably shut the shop and bugger off.
In addition, please note that we'll be closed from November
15th to 19th, and probably November 24th to 26th. Any emails
or website orders received during this period will be processed
upon our return.
Auckland Armageddon
As mentioned above, we had a great time at Armageddon
Auckland. Thanks to all of you who supported us there and made
a purchase from our stall and entered the competition to win a
Sideshow Collectibles Luke
Skywalker Premium Format Statue at the expo. The lucky
winner was David Harris. David bought a Napoleon
Dynamite figure from us and David's Dad collected the statue
on Tuesday morning. David is the youngest of several brothers
who are Star Wars fans who will now be very envious indeed. Now
we're going to give away a Han Solo Statue... more on that later
in the newsletter.
Amongst other things, the range of ACME Archives
Animation and Studio Art was extremely popular, as were the NBX
Solar head nodders. We've now added the Nodders to our website.
Also, the Futurama Fry and Zoidberg figures
were a big hit, with many customers (including us) getting them
signed by Voice Artist Billy West. Armageddon had one of its biggest
expos ever, with almost 30000 people attending and a new Armageddon
single day attendance record on the Saturday of 11500 people!
And boy did it feel like it.
Stock arrival and Golf
We haven't had any major shipments since the last one before Armageddon,
however due to the NZ Golf Open happening here at the end of this
month, we now have a huge range of Golfing Memorabilia
in stock. As this is only a temporary thing, we won't be putting
any of it up on the site, but if you know anyone who is interested
in golfing memorabilia, or you need to buy a golfer a Christmas
Present, please email us and we'll give you details. That includes
Reel Collectibles branded Golf Balls by the way, which will end
up on the site soon. Perfect Christmas present for a golfing dad.
(Hope mine isn't reading this, or there goes the surprise).
December Shipment - Christmas
So, speaking of which, we will be having a shipment arrive in
the first week of December to allow time for new stock to get
to you for Christmas. If there is anything on our site that says
'Available to order for next shipment' that you were thinking
about as a Christmas present, now is the time to order. A 50%
deposit is all that is required now, with the balance and required
shipping payable once the item arrives. We will not be getting
any shipments after this one until next year, so don't miss out.
Fingers crossed that a whole heap of pre-order items will be on
that shipment also.
Win a Han for Christmas
If you've been living in the dark ages and haven't seen our home
page in the last week or so, you're missing out. Reel
Collectibles and SWNZ
are teaming up to give you the chance to win a Limited Edition
Sideshow Collectibles Han
Solo Statue. If you've been living in the dark, dark
ages and don't know who SWNZ are, shame on you, they're on our
links page, get over to their website and
have a look. SWNZ
(Star Wars New Zealand) is a website and community, built by New
Zealanders, for New Zealanders. The principal goal is to support
and encourage all Star Wars related hobbies in NZ, and to tie
together the networks that constitute the wider Star Wars fan
base. SWNZ
focuses on New Zealand content, but has international appeal in
that it highlights the unique contribution made by New Zealand
and New Zealanders to the Star Wars Universe, and will chronicle
regional events and collectibles not available elsewhere. SWNZ
is about enjoying the hype of the new Star Wars films, and about
remembering the mythos of the original trilogy. SWNZ
strives for original content (there being no need to mimic that
which is already done well by the large, well-established Star
Wars sites), but maintains tight links and affiliations to like-minded
websites all around the globe. Click
here for competition details.
Master Replicas - again
As mentioned in the last e-newsletter, Master Replicas is not
continuing with its Star Wars licence after 31st December this
year. As if to hammer that home, we have found recently that several
items we tried to order are no longer available, such as the Anakin
E3 and Darth Maul Double FX Sabers. As we also said before, if
you have been considering purchasing a Master Replicas product
from us, don't delay too long as it may disappear. Remember laybys
can be arranged on some items.
Website
I've been a bit pressed for time recently and therefore some of
the pages may not have been updated with stock status after our
Armageddon visit. I've got a bunch of new products to add too,
so keep checking back for changes. Two of the new pages added
recently are: V for Vendetta
and 300 and some of the product updated
pages are: Nightmare before Christmas, Star
Wars Gentle Giant (New Pre-orders!), Star
Wars Kotobukiya, Keep checking the mini update feed on our
home page for updates. As usual, if you
find a page you're interested in that hasn't been completed, or
any glitches, please email me.
Movember
Movember (the month formally known as November) is a charity event
held during November each year.
At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face.
The Movember participants known as Mo Bros then have the remainder
of the month to grow and groom their moustache and along the way
raise as much money and awareness about male health issues as
possible.
I've decided that seeing as I've never actually grown a mo or
beard (apart from those cricket team 11-a-side efforts as a youngling),
and don't have anything too important planned over November where
I need to be presentable, that I'm going to register at my local
pub and see what grows. For those of you who feel the inclination
and would like to support the cause, you can sponsor me and my
attempt to grow a Mo for Movember. Visit this link http://www.movember.com/nz/donate/donate-search.php
and enter my rego number 148705.
This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
I know I've said this before, but anything Master Replicas, before
it goes.
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Due next year, the Gentle
Giant Ltd Aayla Secura or Shaak Ti Busts. This is the first
time we have seen either of these popular Jedi characters brought
to life in such good detail. Pre-orders will close soon, so get
your piece secured now.
Oh, and this wee movie called The Simpsons Movie is out on DVD
in December, email me if you want to pre-order a copy.
That's about it for now, catch you next time.
Hugh.
13th October 2007
Hi everyone,
Welcome to all our new e-newsletter customers. Check down below
if you missed our other online newsletters or if this is your
first one. On with the news.
Spring!
Now that spring has sprung (well, kind of, in Queenstown that
means nothing as we had snow to town level last week!), the days
are getting longer and it's traditionally a quieter period here
in Queenstown. Therefore we are going to take advantage of this
and have a life outside of the shop by shortening our hours. From
now until approximately mid December, our hours will be as follows:
Monday to Friday: 10am to 5pm
Saturday: 12pm to 5pm
Sunday CLOSED
Please note that on occasion these hours will vary, sometimes
shorter and often longer, or we may be closed. For example, if
it's raining, we'll probably be open longer hours. If it's dead
and a lovely day, we'll probably shut the shop and bugger off.
In addition, please note that we'll be closed from November
15th to 19th. Any emails or website orders received during
this period will be processed upon our return.
Auckland Armageddon!!!
Armageddon Auckland is on again
from October 20th - 22nd (Labour weekend). As always, Reel Collectibles
will be attending and showcasing our products. For you Northerners,
this will be your first opportunity to see our range of ACME
Archives Animation and Studio Art up close. Also, we have
a fantastic opportunity for all those attending the expo. We will
be GIVING AWAY a Sideshow Collectibles Luke
Skywalker Premium Format Statue at the expo! Details will
be made available at the stall, #28/29, Level 5. Don't forget
to come and purchase a Futurama Fry or Zoidberg figure from us
and get it signed by Billy West. We hope to see as many of our
customers and friends as possible.
For those not attending, from October 18th to October 24th 2007
our store will be closed. Any emails or website orders received
during this period will be processed upon our return.

Master Replicas products
If you have not heard the news yet, in May this year Master Replicas
made the decision not to renew its Star Wars licence to produce
Star Wars products. This means that after 31st December this year
they will no longer be allowed to produce any Star Wars items
and after 31st March next year they will no longer be allowed
to sell them. Depending on how much stock there is, we may continue
to have some products for a while after that, but probably not
for long. This also means that many of the new product announcements
by Master Replicas may not actually appear and that many products
are running out. Our recommendation to our customers is that if
you have been considering purchasing a Master Replicas product
from us, don't delay too long as it may disappear.
Website
More modifying/re-naming of some pages has occured, so if you
come across a page that's disappeared from your bookmarks, please
use the navigation to find your favourite page again and update
it. Some of the new pages added recently are: Rambo,
Scarface, Harry
Potter, Robocop, Star
Wars Dioramas, Saw, Texas
Chainsaw Massacre, Rock Iconz Statues,
Ratatouille, Halo
and some of the product updated pages are: Family
Guy Star Wars Artwork, Nightmare before
Christmas, Master
Replicas Scaled Helms, Betty Boop,
Halo Artwork, Buffy
Collectibles, Buffy Artwork,
Star Wars Artwork, Simpsons
Movie Pix-cels, Predator. Keep checking
the mini update feed on our home page
for updates. As usual, if you find a page you're interested in
that hasn't been completed, or any glitches, please email me.
This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
The Sideshow Frodo &
Gollum Crack of Doom Diorama that's just been released. It's
been ages since there's been a decent statue of Gollum or Frodo
available and to get both together is fantastic. At only 1500
pieces, with very good detail (bloody finger, ewwwww!) this piece
is very good value for money.
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Due early next year, The Sideshow
Predator Mask Prop Replica. The Predator Mask Prop Replica
is cast in fiberglass, and features a light-up targeting feature.
The piece is complete with a display stand that can be displayed
on your desktop, or mounted on your wall.
That's about it for now, catch you next time, or
at Armageddon!
Hugh.
17th September 2007
Hi everyone,
Welcome to all our new e-newsletter customers. Check down below
if you missed our other online newsletters or if this is your
first one. A bunch of stuff to report on this time, first up a
bit of housekeeping.
Emails and Spam law
We hope that you have enjoyed the e-newsletters from Reel Collectibles
in the past. As some of you kiwis will be aware, the new Unsolicited
Electronic Messages Act came into force on Wednesday 5th September
2007. The Act is designed to prevent un-wanted spam emails. Here
at Reel Collectibles we have not had to change anything about
the way we conduct our email business to be compliant with the
new act, as we have always sent out our emails in a responsible
manner, to those that have indicated they want to receive them.
Remember, to ensure you get emails from us, make sure you save
hugh@reelcollectibles.co.nz and sarah@reelcollectibles.co.nz to
your contacts and/or Safe Senders lists in your email program.
If you ever change your email address and wish to continue receiving
our e-newsletter notifications, it is important that you let us
know your new address. If you decide that you no longer want to
receive emails from us, all you have to do is email us and ask
to be removed.
Sale!!!
There are still some great bargains to be had in our annual clearance
sale. We have a heap of older stock going out at crazy prices,
some of them below cost! Get in now to grab yourself a great deal.
Follow this link to our sale page.

We had a bit of stock arrive last week, so here's some of the

Gentle Giant & Kotobukiya Pre-orders
Some of you will already have noticed an important message on
a couple of our pages that reads as follows: Due to the restrictions
placed upon us when ordering Gentle Giant products, we are required
to order our stock well in advance. We strongly recommend that
you place a pre-order with us for a piece that you would like
to purchase before the pre-order cut-off date indicated. We cannot
guarantee the supply of any items if a pre-order is not placed.
You may also have seen the odd item on our site that has a pre-order
cut-off date beside it. We are unfortunately in a situation with
one of our suppliers (who supply Gentle Giant Ltd and Kotobukiya
products) where they are not carrying enough back-up stock, so
we are required to order our inventory well in advance. As we
can't be ordering multiple items to hold in stock, we need you
to place a confirmed pre-order so that we can order in pieces
for you. We often order in one or two extra items with our orders,
so please contact us even if you think you have missed out. We
are sorry that we are required to do this, however the situation
is beyond our control.
Website
I've been modifying/re-naming a few of the pages on our website
recently, so some of you may come across a page that's disappeared
from time to time if you are using bookmarks. Please use the navigation
to find your favourite page again and update your bookmarks. Heaps
of new pages and products have been added over the last few weeks
(I'm adding roughly a page or product per day at the moment!),
too many to mention, so keep checking the mini update feed on
our home page for updates. As usual, if
you find a page you're interested in that hasn't been completed,
or any glitches, please email me.
Shop/Website hours
The next couple of months are a little quieter for us here in
Queenstown, so we will be taking the odd opportunity to have reduced
hours and a weekend away. Check either the front page of our website
or our Shop Information page to see if we're
away or if we're there before you put in your order or visit.
Don't forget that the Auckland Armageddon
is next month too, so we'll be away for about a week whilst we
attend that.
This issue's Collectibles Tip
Keep your boxes above ground level. Over this last winter, we've
all been on the receiving end of some pretty nasty weather. Want
to guess what happens to cardboard boxes on a floor when a room
floods because of rain? And then guess what happens to the value
of your collectible?
This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
The Kotobukiya R2D2 & C3PO
statue that's just arrived back into stock. Last time we had
these, about 6 months ago, they lasted about 2 weeks before they
had sold out. There is a lack of good Threepio & Artoo statues
around at the moment, this Kotobukiya one has excellent detail
and is very good value for money.
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Due at the end of the year, The
Sideshow Star Wars "Look Sir, Droids!" Diorama.
The second of the Star Wars Dioramas by Sideshow Collectibles,
this one is an iconic scene from the Star Wars saga. Made of polystone,
hand painted and Limited to only 1250 pieces, this is coming in
at only NZ$189, and we have several advance pre-orders already,
so we're not expecting it to last long on the shelves.
That's about it for now, catch you next time. My
hunch for this week: The Simpsons Movie will be one of the biggest
grossing movies this year, if not all time.
Hugh.
24th July 2007
Hi everyone,
Welcome to all our new e-newsletter customers. My sincere apologies
for the long delay between newsletters, but as you will see below,
we have been busy! Check down below if you missed our other online
newsletters or if this is your first one. Remember, to ensure
you get emails from us, make sure you save hugh@reelcollectibles.co.nz
and sarah@reelcollectibles.co.nz to your contacts and/or Safe
Senders lists in your email program. On with the news!
Star Wars Celebration IV
First off, as we mentioned in the last e-newsletter (and haven't
stopped talking about since), Sarah and I headed off to Los Angeles,
USA for 12 days at the end of May for the Star Wars Celebration
IV Expo. Of course, being the movie geeks we are, we had to do
Disneyland, Universal Studios and Hollywood as well before hitting
the LA convention Centre for 5 days of Star Wars heaven/madness.
Reports of the first 2 days are up online to read here,
the other days will follow shortly.
Queenstown Winter Festival Star Wars Troop 2007
We were barely back from the USA when it was time to organise
the annual Outpost
42/Reel Collectibles Star Wars troop at the 2007 Queenstown
Winter Festival. As some of you may have heard, Queenstown
had massive blizzards leading up to the start of the festival,
which unfortunately meant some of our friends couldn't make it,
however we still had a pretty good turnout with 13 costumed troopers
reporting for duty, including Darth Vader and Princess Leia. Many
other Winter Festival events were cancelled for the first few
days due to the snow, but not us! We are proud to report that
we were the only scheduled Winter Festival event that went ahead
as planned on the Saturday. Then, because nothing else was happening,
we trooped again on the Sunday, and then again on the Monday!
I'm still in the process of putting up a report and photos from
the day on the website, so until I do you can check out the thread
with photos and stories about the event on the Outpost 42 Forums
here.
Sale!!!
It's time for our annual clearance sale. We have a heap of older
stock going out at crazy prices, some of them below cost! Get
in now to grab yourself a great deal. Follow this
link to our sale page.

Weta obtains Dr Who Licence
One of the worst kept secrets but coolest pieces of news hit us
last week, Weta is going to be producing a line of Dr Who Collectibles!
Check out the official press release here.
Website
I hope you're all finding the new Categories
page an easier way to use the site. You must be, as in June we
recorded our biggest ever month of traffic on the website since
the site began in April 2004. Thanks to all of you who visited.
We also recorded our biggest ever single day on July 4th, with
over 1100 visitors!
I've added a slight change to the front page, which now lists
recent changes or additions I've made to the website pages. This
will offer a way to see what is new every time you check our home
page rather than waiting for the next e-newsletter. As usual,
if you find a page you're interested in that hasn't been completed,
or any glitches, please email me.
This issue's Collectibles Tip
Check your insurance policies. I recently looked at my house and
contents insurance to find a clause that states that any private
collections of any sort valued over $2500 need to be separately
listed on the policy. There may or may not be an increase in premiums,
but it needs to be listed. Do a quick add-up of what your collection
would be worth if you had to replace it in full. You'll
be surprised at what you have - check to see if your house and
contents insurance policy covers it.
This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
As mentioned above, our sale. Many
of the items are at cost price or below, and the only reason we're
selling them like that is we need to clear out our stock for new
stuff. Our loss is your gain.
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Due on our next shipment, The
Frodo & Gollum Crack of Doom Diorama. The first of a series
of Dioramas by Sideshow Collectibles, this one captures a piece
of LOTR history. Made of polystone, hand painted and Limited to
only 1500 pieces, this is coming in at only NZ$199, and will make
an excellent accompaniment to your LOTR collection.
That's about it for now, catch you next time. My
hunch for this week: The Simpsons Movie will be one of the biggest
grossing movies this year, if not all time.
Hugh.
12th May 2007
Hi everyone,
Welcome to all our new e-newsletter customers that we met at the

Armageddon Expos
Well, even though weve been back for almost 2 weeks now, both
the shop and ourselves have only just recovered from the expos!
We had an awesome time and it was great to meet so many of you
that we normally only know by email address and to hear Reel Collectibles
is in your favourites on your web browser! It was also a whole
lot of fun and our personal highlights were catching up with our
Outpost 42 friends again, meeting John Rhys Davies and Doug Jones,
and getting to feel the weight of the Weta Rayguns. Photos of
both events are now up on our website: Christchurch
Expo photos & Wellington
Expo photos.

Weta Rayguns announcement
As mentioned above, we got the opportunity to see these first
hand at the Expo, the detail is brilliant and they are super cool
heavy. It was actually very difficult to hold one out at arm's
length for more than a few seconds! The release dates of each
gun have since changed from our last newsletter with the Goliathon
now being released first. See which one you can zap your enemies
with first here, next month!
Star Wars Clebration IV - Los Angeles
What does this have to do with Reel Collectibles? Well first off,
it's Star Wars. Second, it will have a huge range of cool and
exclusive collectibles. Thirdly, and most importantly, we're going
to be there! This means that our Queenstown shop will be closed
from 19th May to 31st May whilst we attend. Any website orders
or emails placed during that time will be responded to when we
return on or after the 1st June. For more info on the exhibition,
check it out here.
We will return with photos and stories from the expo, and hopefully
a few Star Wars Exclusive Collectibles so that kiwis can get their
hands on them.
Website
I have now changed all our pages so that the navigation names
on the left have been replaced with a general 'Browse by category',
which will take you to our new expanded Categories
page and 'search', which will take you to our Search
page. I hope you are finding the site easier to use and finding
what you want in the pages. If you find any glitches whilst using
the website, please email me so I can fix them. As well as general
updates, I have also added new Spiderman
products, a Transformers page for
our new Transformers stock and a Weta
Hellgate Collectibles Page. If you find a page that you're
interested in that hasn't been completed, email me for details.
After LA of course :)
This
issue's Collectibles Tip
Keep the box. If you're like me and you like to get out your pieces
to put on display, keep the box and associated packaging somewhere
dry and safe. I know this is old news to many, but keeping the
box and all the original packaging etc greatly increases the value
of your collectible should you ever decide to sell it in the future.
This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
Gentle Giant... Anything!
Gentle Giant are well know for their great looking statues, maquettes
and busts from the Star Wars universe. We personally buy their
products for our personal collection and those customers who have
bought a Gentle Giant Statue keep coming back for more! They
are now doing LOTR and Pirates
of the Caribbean items also, along with many others. The problem
is, it's getting very hard to get a good supply of their products
over this side of the world. For reasons unkown, we never get
the full compliment of what we order and quite often don't get
anything at all (I guess NZ is just too little in the scheme of
things!). We're trying our hardest to ensure the supply still
gets through, but our word of advice if something is in stock,
get it! We may never see it again.
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Due on our next June shipment, McFarlane
Simpsons Action figures . McFarlane pays an incredible amount
of attention to detail on thier action figure range, then add
cool accessories and great packaging. We don't expect Series One
of this range to last too long due to the worldwide popularity
of the Simpsons and the impending release of the Simpsons Movie,
which also has a line of figures due out soon.
That's about it for now, see you in a few weeks.
May the Force be with you!
Hugh.

Armageddon Expo 2007
Probably the most important news in this edition of the e-newsletter.
We will be attending the Christchurch and Wellington Armageddon
Expos in April. This means that our Queenstown shop will be closed
from 12th April to 24th April whilst we attend. Any website
orders or emails placed during that time will be responded to
when we return on the 25th April. For more info on the expos,
check it out here. We hope to
see as many of you as we can, please make yourselves known. We
will be bringing as much as we can of our range to the expos,
especially a lot of the Acme Artwork mentioned above.
Website
The website is undergoing a few changes at the moment to try and
group everything so you can find it more easily. Those of you
familiar with the website will see some of the navigation names
on the left be replaced slowly with a general 'Browse by category',
which will take you to our new expanded Categories
page or 'search', which will take you to our Search
page. Due to the Expos, I haven't had a chance to complete all
the navigation changes or new pages yet, but I'm working on it!
If you find a page that you're interested in that hasn't been
completed, email me for details. After the Expos of course :)
This issue's Collectibles Tip
Get in early. I get contacted all too many times by customers
wanting items that were released in the past. Whilst we are a
little fortunate that sometimes we can get items that are sold
out elsewhere, due to our location, if you think you want something,
buy it before it sells out and prices start climbing. Remember
that if you are one of our NZ customers you can put things on
Layby and spread out the payments, which
will ensure you get your item and don't risk that it will sell
out before you can save up for it.
This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
Sideshow Legolas 12" figure.
The detail, packaging and accessories of this new 12" line
from Sideshow is excellent. From LOTR experience, Legolas is a
popular character, and judging by the popularity of the Aragorn
figures, get in quick so you don't miss out on these incredible
12" figures.
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Sideshow Collectibles Evil Dead Premium
Format Ash Statue. Evil Dead has a massive cult following
and Sideshow's Premium Format lines are some of the best out there.
Real clothing, hand painted and great attention to detail. These
are produced in very low editions and we will only bring these
into NZ by specific pre-order, order now and be one of the only
kiwis to own one.
That's about it for now, see you at the Expos or
in a few weeks. Go see 300 at the cinema and if you haven't seen
An Inconvenient Truth yet, it's now out on DVD. Every human should
see it.
Hugh.

Star Wars Lego
At the request of many of our local customers, we have now started
stocking Star Wars Lego. The new 30th Annniversary 2007 Lego range
has been very popular, check out the range on our website page
here. For any of you who can't
find it in the shops or can't get to the shops to see the range,
the Lego is very inexpensive to send around NZ if you order from
our site.
Weta Rayguns announcement

Movie stars shop at Reel Collectibes!
Warwick Davis, the actor who played Ewok Wicket in Return of the
Jedi, Anakin's young Rodian friend Wald in The Phantom Menace
as well as main star of Willow and Harry Potter roles, shopped
in Reel Collectibles recently. Full
story and pictures!
Also in the shop recently were Anna Popplewell & Ben Barnes

Armageddon Expo 2007

the Christchurch and Wellington Armageddon Expos in April. This
means that our Queenstown shop will be closed from 12th April

during that time will be responded to when we return on the 25th
April. For more info on the expos, check it out here.
Easter weekend 2007
If any of you are visiting the Queenstown area and planning on
popping in to our shop over the Easter holiday weekend, our hours
will be as normal. Same goes
for Otago Anniversary day on the 25th March.
This issue's Collectibles Tip
Has the unthinkable happened to your polystone figure and it's
been broken? All is not lost. Polystone tends to break very cleanly,
so provided you have all the pieces, your best friend is... Superglue.
Superglue is a popular choice with polystone, it bonds very well.
Just don't stick yourself to your collectible!
This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
Sideshow Darth Maul 12" figure. The detail, packaging and accessories of this new
12" line from Sideshow is excellent. And he's a bad guy,
a Sith Lord no less. The bad guys are always more popular, so
get Maul before he disappears.
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Sideshow Collectibles Lord of the Rings Legendary
Scale Sauron Bust. As you will have just read above, we have
just landed the Morgul Lord bust and are very, very impressed.
These are produced in very low editions and we will only bring
these into NZ by specific pre-order, order the Sauron Bust now
and be one of the only kiwis to own one.
That's about it for now, until next time, keep
watching those movies.
Hugh.
30th January 2007
Hi everyone,
A Happy New Year to you all, I hope you had a safe and happy festive
season and all the best for 2007. Welcome to all our new e-newsletter
customers. This is the first of our e-newsletters that will be
posted online, rather than sent to your inbox, however E-newsletter
subscribers will still receive a notification when a newsletter
is released. We have unfortunately had to bring you the e-newsletter
this way, due to the increasing amount of spam these days, therefore
some of our customers were not recieving the e-newsletter in their
inbox and this seems ot be the best way to combat it. Remember,
to ensure you get emails from us, make sure you save hugh@reelcollectibles
and sarah@reelcollectibles to your contacts and/or Safe Senders
lists in your email program.

For those of you who haven't heard, the Armageddon Expo is coming
to the South Island for the first time in it's history. Christchurch
Convention Centre will be host on the 14th & 15th April, mark
it in your diaries now! For full details and dates of all this
years events, check it out on here.
This years guests include John Rhys Davies, Billy Dee Williams
and Louis Gossett Jr.
Acme Archives & Fox Studio and Animation Art
Those of you have visited our shop recently will have seen that
our Hall of Fame has had to have been relocated around the shop
to make way for our newest and most exciting product, Studio &
Animation Art from Acme Archives & 20th Century Fox. We are
New Zealand's exclusive retailer of these items, which means we
are the only shop/website in New Zealand that has Limited Edtion
Animation Cels, Gicless and Artwork from The Simpsons, Family
Guy, Samurai Jack, Alien vs Predator, Buffy the Vampire Slayer,
Star Wars Clone Wars, Powerpuff Girls and more. Check out the
range of current stock on our new Acme page.
This issue's Collectibles Tip
Things get dusty. It's the law of nature unfortunately and includes
your treasured items. To keep your Collectibles nice and clean
looking, buy yourself a smallish soft fine-bristled paint brush.
Use this to lightly dust your Collectible in all the finely detailed
parts to keep it looking fresh. The paint brush gets into all
the nooks and crannies of your collectible that a dusting cloth
can't.
This issue's Hot In Stock Collectible Pick
20th Century Fox's Family Guy Stewie
Character key. Whether you're a fan of Family guy or just
Animation Art, the Stewie Character Key is awesome. Brightly coloured,
looks fantastic framed up and from the history of the Star
Wars:Clone Wars Character Keys, highly probable to increase
in value.
This issue's Hot Pre-order Collectible Pick
Sideshow Collectibles 12" Lord
of the Rings Faramir figure. Customers who have purchased
the already released Aragorn figure have raved about the detail,
packaging and accessories of this new line. In the Sideshow/Weta
Polystone line, a Faramir collectible was never released, so we
believe this will be likely to sell out quickly and therefore
become hard to find.
That's about it for now, more Posters are due any day, until next
time, keep watching those movies!
